Elliott is the current Director of Commercial Innovation at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, the largest privately-funded plant science research institution in the world. Elliott was a research assistant Professor at West Virginia University prior to his current role at the Danforth.

Holds a PhD in Natural Resources and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
